Stainless steel is the primary material in our Bento's, and for good reason. Despite the list of pro's being almost endless and not too many con's, here's a small sample of our favourite features of stainless steel.
Stainless steel is a sustainable material, making it an absolute no-brainer for selection in our products. It has an extremely high recycled and re-capture rate, rendering it one of the most recyclable materials on the planet. Not only that, but it is extremely durable and corrosion resistant, enabling it to outlast its comparative materials. Our Bento's are dishwasher safe. Simply chuck it in and it will come out looking brand new, cleaned and sterilised, making it the optimal choice of material for food storage.
But what is most amazing about stainless steel (and all Happy Home products for that matter) is the fact that it contains 0% Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs). This is extremely important to us, as we designed our products for every day use.
You have probably seen the term's SUS (Steel Use Stainless) & 304 (Food grade - Chemical composition of Iron, Chromium, & Nickel) and wondered what they actually mean. These are important, as unlike us, many brands claim to use stainless steel however will not use the precise alloy blend to achieve true 304 food grade. You can be rest assured that all Happy Home products that use stainless steel are SUS 304 food grade, giving you the peace of mind that you and your family are safe to use our products everyday.
